Privacy Policy - LiveMusic

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 3, 2026

LiveMusic ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ("LiveMusic"). Please read this policy carefully.

1. Information We Collect

To provide a synchronized peer-to-peer music player experience and support in-app features, we collect several types of data:

A. Locally Stored Data & Media

  • Local Audio Files: The app accesses your device storage (internal or SD card) to search for and play local music files. These files are processed locally on your device.
  • Metadata: We read track titles, duration, and cover art thumbnails to display them inside your music library list.

B. Unique Device Identifiers

  • Device ID: We generate a unique device identifier stored locally. This is used solely to identify your device when you join or host synchronized chat/music rooms.

C. Third-Party Analytics & Services

We utilize third-party SDKs to analyze app performance and deliver advertisements. These third-party services collect data according to their own privacy policies:

  • 1. Google Firebase Analytics
    • Purpose: Performance tracking, user engagement analysis, and crash reporting.
    • Data Collected: App opens, session durations, device model, operating system version, crash log data, and custom interaction events.
    • Policy Link: Google Privacy & Terms
  • 2. Google AdMob
    • Purpose: Serving personalized and non-personalized advertisements.
    • Data Collected: Advertising ID (Android AAID), cookies, IP addresses, location data, and ad engagement metrics.
    • Policy Link: Google Advertising Policies
  • 3. Unity Ads
    • Purpose: Delivering interactive video and display advertisements.
    • Data Collected: Device identifiers, IP addresses, geolocation, ad interaction stats, and game/app installations.
    • Policy Link: Unity Privacy Policy

D. Room Chat & Emojis

  • Text Messages & Emojis: When you use the synchronized room chat feature, the text messages and emojis you send are temporarily processed on our database server.
  • Transient Lifecycle: This data is cached temporarily (chats for up to 30 seconds, emojis for up to 15 seconds) strictly for delivery coordination among active room participants. It is not permanently archived or combined with any personal profiles.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • Core Syncing Services: Connecting your playback state (play, pause, seek, uploader nickname) to other members inside your active room.
  • Room Chat Communication: Transmitting and presenting text messages and emojis sent among active users in the same room.
  • Local Web Server: Serving your local downloaded tracks to other browsers connected to your local Wi-Fi or hotspot network.
  • Background Server Streaming: To keep the web sharing server running while the app is in the background or your device screen is locked, the app runs a foreground service and maintains temporary CPU/Wi-Fi wake locks. No media files or local data are broadcast outside of your local network during this execution.
  • App Optimization: Identifying crashes, improving loading times, and resolving bugs.
  • Advertising: Displaying relevant ads to support the free operation of the app.

3. Data Retention & Sharing

  • Temporary Caches: In-app room configurations, transient chat history, and shared member metadata expire and are automatically purged from our servers after 1 hour of total room inactivity.
  • Rolling Chat Window: Active in-room chat messages are kept in a rolling 30-second cache on the database server to prevent data buildup.
  • No Selling of Data: We do not sell, rent, or lease your private data or local media metadata to third parties.

4. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

LiveMusic does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately. If you believe your child has shared data with us, please contact us.

5. Security of Your Data

We employ standard administrative and technical measures to protect your database transactions. However, because room streaming involves P2P linkages and local server hotspots, please ensure you only share your web links or host URLs with trusted individuals on secure networks.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted inside this file, and we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this document.
